Navigating Payment Assistance / Insurance
We understand that prioritizing your well-being can feel difficult, especially when society doesn’t always view it as the valuable investment it truly is. Naturally, cost is a significant factor, and one of the first questions people often ask is, "Does insurance cover it?". When we mention that Apricity is out-of-network, it can cause some hesitation. However, we encourage you not to let that stop you—and here’s why:
Our choice to not contract with commercial insurance is intentional. Our goal is to provide full privacy, affordable sessions (particularly for clients with high-deductible plans), greater flexibility around therapy scheduling, and access to high-quality care that actually helps. While navigating insurance with an out-of-network provider may feel unfamiliar, it’s increasingly becoming the most effective way to provide meaningful care while still allowing people to access reimbursement for services.

After each session, we will provide you with a receipt or "superbill" for submission to your insurance for reimbursement. In many cases, out-of-network reimbursement can be more favorable, especially for plans with high deductibles.
If you have to use your out-of-network benefits (which most plans offer), we will check them for you and determine what’s covered. Most insurance companies reimburse for professional services such as therapy, nutrition counseling, and more. Alternatively, you can contact your insurance company directly to verify your coverage.

If you choose to do so, here are a few key questions to ask:
-
Will my plan reimburse services if I provide a Superbill claim form?
-
What is the reimbursement rate for out-of-network providers?
-
What is the deductible amount?
-
How many visits are covered per year?

That said, we are committed to expanding options for coverage. In some cases, we may be able to arrange a Single Case Agreement (SCA) with your insurance provider, which could allow you to use in-network benefits for our services. We are happy to look into this option for you!
