Alexandra Wilkosz,
DSW, LCSW

Founder & Clinical Director

Since I was nine years old, I’ve known that helping others was my purpose. It was the year my father was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and I learned quickly that pain is a part of life. I remember telling my mom I was going to be a therapist - to help people who were hurting and be there in their hardest moments. That desire to help only grew stronger over time. With a mix of determination and persistence, I pursued the education and experiences that would allow me to do what mattered most - support those in need.

With over 20 years of experience in mental health, specifically in the field of eating disorders, I’ve had the privilege of serving the community in many capacities. Throughout my career, I’ve worked alongside some of the most compassionate and brilliant minds in the field. What has shaped me the most though, are the moments I’ve spent with clients and families - those are the moments that have truly defined my path. They have taught me what it truly means to hold space for someone’s pain, to walk alongside them in change, and to witness healing in its rawest form. They also showed me what wasn’t working in traditional treatment - what left people feeling stuck, unseen, and hopeless.

Those relationships, and thousands of hours of listening and connecting, made me realize that while therapy is a powerful tool for healing, it’s not the only one. True healing goes beyond talking through emotions - it’s also about nourishing the whole self - body and soul - and finding connection, purpose, and belonging.

With this understanding, a whole lot of hope, and my brother by my side, we created Apricity - a place where community, empowerment, and genuine connection are at the center. A space where people can show up exactly as they are and get the support they deserve.

Matthew Palermo, LMHC

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Hi, I'm Matthew, a mental health counselor at Apricity Mind + Body Collective. I’m here to help you navigate life’s challenges with support that feels both meaningful and tailored to you.

Over the years, I’ve worked with individuals facing eating disorders, anxiety, mood disorders, substance use, and personality disorders—both in outpatient and residential settings. No two people are the same, so my approach is always person-centered. I focus on building real, respectful connections and creating a space where you can show up as you are - without judgment.

I earned my Bachelor's from St. John Fisher University and my Master's from SUNY Brockport, but what matters most is how we work together. Whether in-person or virtually, I’d love to support you in finding the balance, healing, or direction you’re looking for.

Life can feel like a lot sometimes, but you don’t have to figure it out alone. I’m here to listen, support, and help you find your way to a place of balance, healing, and self-discovery. Let’s take that next step together!
